There is something in the air on Christmas Eve that brings with it feelings of hope, love and excitement. Much the same as we would imagine, as the Shepherds and the Angels anticipated the birth of baby Jesus, on that beautiful December night so many, many years ago. It was indeed a night, so silent and holy. Silent Night, the most famous carol to ever have been written, gives the listener a true gift. It’s words and soft melody seem to embrace the heart with a feeling as though one was there looking on, in that humble, sweet stable.
Today, we are reminded all around us, of the coming of Christmas! There is nothing quite as sacred and meaningful, as taking the time to feel the stillness late on Christmas Eve. The stars shine brighter and Heaven seems very near. As a stanza from this prize carol reminds us….”Silent night, holy night….Son of God, love’s pure light….” To this day, He is our light.
