The beauty, grace and gentleness of this season speaks softly to the heart of gratitude. I believe God created Autumn to prepare us for the celebration of sacred holidays to arrive in the winter months. To quote a timeless passage from the Book of Ecclesiastes 3:1 “For everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under Heaven.” Just reflecting on a beautiful weekend in Provo, Utah with a dear friend, I saw firsthand God’s stunning art work. The brilliant colors of red, gold and orange leaves on trees that softly filtered the Autumn sun was almost spiritual. The majestic Provo Canyon with it’s swiftly moving river, the mountains that made me feel so small, and the whistling of the wind through the Aspen trees was a gift to my senses. Yes, I drank it all in, feeling so very grateful for the magnitude of God’s creations and His everlasting love for each one of us.
