I have known many heroes in my lifetime, many in my own family. One in particular whose courage and noble qualities set her apart from anyone I will ever know again. With a string of pearls around her neck and a beautiful smile, she made everyone feel better…a stranger on the street, her friends and most of all her family. She always set a good example by the way she treated others and every day of my life she led with love in our home, making it heaven on earth for my Dad, my brother and me and later in life, my own children. We said good-bye to her way too young due to cancer. To this day a string of pearls around my neck and a bright smile makes me feel my Mom is always with me and that I can face any adversity that comes my way, as she so bravely did.
