A few years ago, I spent a precious week in Maui with my dearest friends, of over thirty years. We made wonderful memories together as only best friends can. One late afternoon, I decided to sit on the shore as the tide was coming in. My eyes were suddenly fixed on a small Hawaiian water bird, that looked much like a Sandpiper. I watched as this delicate bird gracefully walked along the shore. With all of it’s frailty, I was amazed at how instinctively it knew to walk to higher ground as the tide came close. As I continued to savor the beauty and the majesty of Napili Bay, I thought, we are as strong as we need to be to withstand the tides of life.
